The next set of invites for the United Masters League have been announced, with the list of participants for Phase 1 now complete.
Four teams have been added to the Phase 1 lineup, with Virtus.pro, Syman, Illuminar and Ancient all joining the first stage of the competition.
The United Masters League organiser has also revealed that Finnish side SJ will be stepping in for Heretics, who had been included in the last round of invites but are unable to compete.
Ancient are expected to field a mix of William "draken" Sundin, Fredrik "freddieb" Buö, Simon "tabz" Feldt, Joakim "Relaxa" Gustafsson and Fredrik "FREDDyFROG" Gustafsson for the tournament after the Swedish team officially disbanded at the end of August.
The first phase of the United Masters League will feature four GSL group stages with eight teams, with the top two teams of each of the four weeks qualifying for Phase 2. Two new teams will join the remaining six participants from the previous week to compete again for two spots in the next stage.
The eight qualified sides will join eight invitees in Phase 2, which will consist of a best-of-three Swiss stage. The third and last stage will be a single-elimination, best-of-three playoff bracket that will determine the winner of the grand prize of $50,000.
